I feel like it's hopeless
Question:
Try to slowly get back into exercise. Try eating different foods then the ones you are eating. Start out SLOWLY. ANd be very very patient. Basic eating habits to change (You didn’t tell us what you ate) would include in general avoiding "bad" fats and refined sugar. It’s hard to say what you should do since you didn’t mention much about your current lifestyle (except for lack of exercise). So the obvious thing to say would also be start exercising. find someone to go walking with. And read this newsgroup for inspiration – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I want so much to be thin again. I know that my added weight hinders every aspect of my life. I know other people look down on heavy people. It’s just that I enjoy eating (don’t really consume that much), and lack of exercise keep me at a high weight. Any suggestions? Ssandee

It’s never hopeless until you’re dead. I know it must seem overwhelming. We have all been there and we have all felt like you. Reaching out is a very big first step and you should pat your self on the back. I could go on for days, as some in this group know, but there are a few things you need to do for successful weight loss. 1. You need to change your life style. You need to learn new ways of cooking, shopping and how to choose healthy foods. Otherwise, when you have lost the weight and go back to your old way of eating, you will gain it all back. Choosing to change for life will help assure you will keep it off. There fore you must choose a diet plan that is healthy and one that you can stay on for life. You may need to try a few different diets until you find the one for you. For info on diets, check out the ASD FAQs at http://freeyellow.com/members/cookingnewsletter/asd.html . 2. Start writing down everything you eat. I never thought I ate much till I realized that I didn’t eat much at meals but rather never really stopped eating. I ate food all day, so at meals I didn’t eat much because I was full. It’s very easy to not realize what and how much you eat. 3. Start moving you body. Exercise will not only help you lose weight, but will help to change your moods. You can lose weight without exercising, but it takes longer and you miss out on all the health benefits. 4. Start to work on the fat in your head. Either therapy or a group like overeaters anonymous You can do it. — Disclaimer: YMMV and this is just MHO. Hugs, hun. I don’t know if this will help, I’m not going to recommend a certain plan. Reading through this group will help you get some insight on different plans, and you can read up further on the ones that you like best. There is a section in "Make the Connection" by Bob Greene and Oprah Winfrey that really made a huge amount of difference for me. This section deals with everything from emotional eating to living life to it’s fullest. It deals most with keeping yourself from dwelling on the past, and worrying too much about the future. Just losing weight won’t change your life, learning to really care about yourself and enjoying yourself will. No matter what plan your on, this can really help you find the strength and motivation that you have inside yourself. It leaves you feeling determined and ready to make changes in your life, as difficult as they may be. You might want to take a look at it the next time your at the library or bookstore, it’s short enough to sit and read at the store too. Take a look at what you’re eating each day now, and consider if you would enjoy a low fat or low carb diet more. (There is also calorie restrictions, you can try it, but I think it’s very hard.) See where you can make changes in your life, and find a time to start exercising slowly. A nice walk around the block clears the head, and helps relieve stress. The weight may hinder, but sometimes we hinder ourselves. Losing the weight will only add to the experience of enjoying life. Make a point to enjoy life right now, no matter what weight you are. The rest can fall into place when you can look in the mirror and smile at yourself. Good luck to you, Moira

When you’re ready to really lose that weight you will do something about it. If you’re not willing or able to diet & get some exercise perhaps you’re just not ready yet. You contacted this group – that’s at least the 1st step. — Carol the Frugal Ponder.. fishhead at hotcom.net zone 6 Tennessee }<(((o }<(((o }<(((o ICQ# 298296 All spammers will be reported to their ISPs. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I want so much to be thin again. Hi It’s been hard to exercise for me, too, I just don’t feel like doing it. Last year I was a slug and didn’t lose any weight in spite of all the things I did to improve how I ate. So I had to bite the bullet and put exercise first on my agenda. I do a number of things and over the last 3 weeks I feel like my clothes are looser. But I don’t know you well enough to make any suggestions. Hope somebody smarter than me answers your posting. Cheers
